I Can Still Remeber That Day Poem by Rhymer Rhymer

I Can Still Remeber That Day

the river erosion
this bank
that bank
we only go back
the old place we lack
the enchantments of the trees
new ones we have to dig
we loved mango much
not better was the fig
fashionable was the teak
cowshed and calf
most attractive past
river now a drain
a necklace or chain
hurts my heart
uh the bullock cart
aoosh amon paddy
irri is a teady
but Man needs bumper crops
natural quality a backdrop
cowdung was manure
kept the soil proper tenure
whatever we ate
that touched heart's gate
irrigation was rain
oh what a pain
none now ask for rain
is god in vain?
