I Can'T Remember The Night Of The Poem Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Can'T Remember The Night Of The Poem

I can't remember the night or the poem
Or the song or the love
I can't remember
What we had as my dream come true
The beauty and ecstasy of it all
Each time I met with you
And each time we loved to the end
I can't remember the night the poem
Your hands your face your beauty our love
I can't remember
Yet somewhere deep in me hidden even beyond my own fear
There is the hint
Of those moments
When everyday was ecstasy and joy
And there was more to the life I lived
Than I had ever dreamed before

You have been gone long ago
And my mind and memory to survive
Forgot us

I cannot remember you now
I never will

But somehow there is a music
That hints at our joy and its memory

Love oh love which I had once in my life
Joy and ecstasy
That long ago
I said goodbye to
Forever.
