I Cannot Stand My Own Silence Anymore Poem by Sara Hol

I Cannot Stand My Own Silence Anymore

My lips have been sealed
for far too long,
The silence
has grown too familiar.

The pain burns into each side
a reminder; that I am trying to hide.
My trust in men is not that strong,
So I did not expect our relationship to last long.

With my low self esteem
the thoughts I have of myself
are not too keen.

I know you love me,
I love you too...
but I think you could do alot better.

I'm sorry if this breaks your heart
just saying it tears me apart.
So I will end this as fast as I can,
lets be honest
in the end you would have ran.

I am an official walking disaster
that you seem not to see
my secret;
I try to be discreet.

Please let us say our goodbyes
so my silence
is no longer a lie.

I love you,
I am sorry
for all this hurt,
but in the end
you'll understand
why I ran...
and you'll thank me.
