I wish this life had offered you more
as you slowly had aged.
Even though I was young,
I felt the heartache and
every bit of pain.

I followed closely of your steps
watching life abuse you.
The guilt and remorse hung deep
in my heart,
even though I was never the cause.

Your smile was priceless
as your laugh was always contagious,
filling my heart with unconditional love.
The world did not receive your smile
as often as it should.

I have dedicated my actions in life
to make you proud,
I made sure I succeeded in my education
and helped others that were around.
I put everyone first
and tended to all their wounds,
helping me feel complete.

I just want to make you proud
even though you feel
you have failed the others.

You have never failed me,
and have only ever
been an amazing father.

I love you dad,
you are my world.
