When I cared it did not matter
When I cried you looked and never said a word
Things that mattered don't anymore
Things that got me don't anymore
Those who knew me are confused
I changed and so did my priorities
You were all that I had and you knew that
Yet still you walked out without looking back
Things that mattered don't anymore
Things that got me don't anymore
Those who knew me are confused
I changed and so did my priorities
They told lies you knew the truth
They accused you watched to be accepted
Things that mattered don't anymore
Things that got me don't anymore
Those who knew me are confused
I changed and so did my priorities
I asked for a reason to be hopeful
You gave me reasons why I shouldn't be
Things that mattered don't anymore
Things that got me don't anymore
Those who knew me are confused
I changed and so did my priorities
So I ask why cry when I can smile
Why stop caring when it doesn't hurt
Why have the fear of being alone
When I not only have Christ
But have his father and his spirit too
It is obvious that the
Things that mattered don't anymore
Things that got me don't anymore
Those who knew me are confused
I changed and so did my priorities
Love is a spiritual experience that affects one profoundly. It is also whimsical and temperamental, appearing unannounced and may leave without warning, if it's not carefully nurtured by both couples. An insightful depiction of loss of fascination in a stressful relationship, well articulated and nicely penned from the heart with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Linn. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
Change is the inherent property of every thing living so there is nothing wrong in the change in outlook about certain things. A thought provoking and meaningful poem. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
