I Couldn't Find You in the Room with Me
You sat there a long time immersed in your work.
I couldn't find where you were.
The impressions in your newspaper
Were fine and clear.
I pictured you looking at me.
But you reading was all I could see.
My imagination went far and wide
And my yearning for you didn't subside.
You closed the newspaper and went out the door.
You did ignore
My existence next to you.
It left me completely blue.
