I Didn't Get A Chance To Say Goodbye Poem by Ray Hansell

I Didn't Get A Chance To Say Goodbye

An illness struck him down
So many miles away
I wanted some last words with him
But it didn't turn out that way

I felt that I should go see him
But others convinced me to wait
I only wish I hadn't listened
Because too quickly it became too late

Now, I know I'll never forget
No matter how hard I try
That had I followed my heart
I would have at least had a chance to say goodbye

(Dedicated to Frank)
