I Didn't Treat Her Right Poem by Ray Hansell

I Didn't Treat Her Right

Slowly the rain starts falling
On a cold and dark night
Somehow I'm believing
The rain feels alright

It was just a day ago
She told me we were through
I can't stop thinking about her
I just don't know what to do

So, I walk the lonely streets
As the rain gently falls
I couldn't bare to stay at home
Staring at four walls

Walking the dark city streets
Seems to work just fine for me
I don't want to face tomorrow
I just can't let it be

Without her in my life
It just won't be the same
But I have to tell you
That she is not to blame

Instead of walking the lonely streets
I should be holding her close
I should have paid her more attention
She is what I miss the most

I wasn't the man I should have been
I just didn't treat her right
That's the reason I'm alone
On this cold and rainy night

So, if you have a woman
You'd better treat her right
Or you could wind up just like me
Waling the lonely streets at night
