I Do Admire People Poem by Francis Duggan

I Do Admire People

I do admire people whose needs do seem small
Who out of life never do ask much at all
They do not have in them the self centred need
For millions in money born of demon greed
Though sad to say they have become a rare breed
At living an honourable life they succeed
And though financially they may be doing it quite tough
With their lot they always seem happy enough
I do not admire wealthy developers from the top end of town
Who pay people for to cut mature trees down
For to develop land and wildlife displace
Wanton destruction of natural habitat is an environmental disgrace
Those who live without harming Nature I greatly admire
And of singing their praises I never could tire.
