I Do Not Know The Names Of All These Colors Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Do Not Know The Names Of All These Colors

I DO NOT KNOW THE NAMES OF ALL THESE COLORS

I do not know the names of all these colors
Of trees and leaves and flowers
But these shades
The greens the yellows the scarlets and purples and reds
Are for my eyes and soul
A music
A light
A joy
A sense that G-d has made
In this world
so much Beauty
That to deny it
Would be to be an ingrate forever.
