I Don't Get It Poem by Ray Hansell

I Don't Get It

I understand death
As a part of life
But I'm having a problem
As I just lose sight

Of why someone so young
Is taken at an early age
Sometimes I just feel
So full of rage

Why a young mother
Gets taken away
Than to her children
What do you say

Their broken hearts
I know will mend
Even though they've lost
A mother and friend

God is our savior
Who protects us all
If this is true
Why do the good fall

This young mother did nothing
But raising her family
Now life goes on without her
The way it wasn't supposed to be

Great point. The way it wasn't supposed to be. Something many of us deal with in life and this is exactly what we feel. Great poem! Candid, frank, deep.
