Could you ever walk a mile in my shoes
Can you walk them old dirt roads
without a care of what you lose
Could you sit on that there tailgate
telling stories to your kin
Could you tie up that old trailer and throw them horses in
Could you never picture momma
wearing high-heeled shoes and a skirt
would you be surprised by grandpa
if he's not wearing a bunch of dirt
could you tell me just how much rain
the corn fields have this year
would you tell me this
round a bonfire pit
holding an ice-cold beer
Could you live my life
Could you know my kind
Could you sit there quietly
in a duck blind
if you don't know my life
I wish you all the luck
But if it ain't yours too
then I don't give...
a truck.
I see them slickers round here
they laugh at my torn jeans
got a skoal can line
on my behind
and mud up to my knees
I've heard 'em talking stories
telling bout how they rode tall
but let's be honest here folks
before they spur
they're bound to fall
Could you live my life
could you know my kind
could you sit there quietly
in a duck blind
if you don't know my life
I wish you all the luck
But if it ain't yours too
then I don't give...
a truck...
Sure I've had some bad days
where I didn't want the rain
And I've been stuck in traffic
behind a trailer hauling grain
But keep this one thing in your mind...son
if you don't know my life
you don't know what I've been through to
be a husband to my wife
If you don't know my life
I wish you all the luck
But if it ain't yours too
then I don't give...
No I don't give...
If it ain't yours too.....
Then I don't give...A truck...
