I Dream The Dream - Poem by Alison Smith

Lost within this dream
Why are the realities so harsh
Opened all the boxes
They all exploded in my face.

Not sure I know what I want
Only know that I cant be free
Offer me something new
Nothing seems real anymore
Engulfed with such feelings of loss.

Now I dream the dream
Hope I never wake
Cant understand why I should
Nothing is good when its real.

Can you see me?
Can you feel me?
Do you want me?
Will you free me?

Sadly eloquent....dreams are only that...and nothing more...When we open our eyes, we must think, act & strive for our desires with realistic measure.Great Write, young lady! Good to see you on site tonight, indeed!
