I Feel That Poem by Francis Duggan

I Feel That

I feel that my ego is out of control
And on my thought patterns is taking it's toll
I envy the people with humility
Though sadly they are of the unassuming minority

Everyday walking on the park or on the street
Egotistical people i happen to meet
There are many with far bigger egos than me
And this does seem a sad thing would you not agree

The ego in all of us it is alive
In this competitive Human World we need some to survive
But far too many of us our own praises only too willing to sing
And for the mind this is not a healthy thing

I admire the humble they don't brag or boast
And they leave it to others to themselves to drink a toast
But sadly in the twenty first century they have become a rare breed
In the Human World many to brag of themselves feel the need.
