I Finally Heal! Poem by Namratha Swamy

Today I stand with my head held high without trying to blame my fate for I am finally in peace with my inner being!

An unknown smile crosses my lips with the awareness that my past is partly my own doing,
an indelible history written by me!

I discreetly nurture the wounds of yesteryears like my babies,
at times proud to be responsible for their birth!

I have finally accepted that my present is the outcome of yesterday, but in peace that my future is unseen though uncontrollable, yet unwritten!

Blaming of my destiny,
wailing at His injustice,
crying when accused of doing so
has become a thing of the past for
I am no longer scared the child within would leave me and travel away and alone!

I am determined to march towards he light to reshape my future
so that nobody accuses me of writing my past!
