I Forgave Poem by Randy McClave

I Forgave

What do I say
When unto God I pray,
That I forgive you?
Well, I do.
I have forgiven you for what you have done
From a lie that you had begun,
And when me you had falsely led
I also forgiven you for what you had said.
Unto God when I do speak
I am never scared, or worried, or weak,
I tell him of the life that you live
Then I ask him, to please forgive.
When you I truly think of
I always think first of love,
God knows what I have been through
Again, I ask him to please forgive you.
Alone, I am right now
I have happily taken a spiritual vow,
Even though I was lied to and used
You, I have excused.
I remember how you said you were treated
By others you were hurt and defeated,
But, I am glad that I was there
When you were alone, and in despair.
Whenever you were abused or hurt
Remember, I never did run away, or desert,
And whenever you needed help or assistance
I was there without any resistance.
Whenever you needed help I came
But, you never treated me the same,
And when you stole and did leave
I prayed, and I gave you a reprieve.
I don't and I won't regret doing anything
That made you smile, and your heart sing,
And when others placed you at the end of the line
I always wanted to help you shine.
You have never cried a tear for me
And you never ever cared for me,
But, when you see me in my grave
Please don't worry, but remember, I forgave.
