I Forgot All The Seconds Poem by Rachel Henley

I Forgot All The Seconds

Kill me softly yet kill me sweetly.
Yes and all of it was so deadly,
We gave up before we knew we had,
Sweep it under the carpet,
Paint over the stains on the wall,
Sell me out for a better price,
tell me now,
is the weather so nice?

Move further away,
the view will never improve,
no better, no sadder,
thing for my eyes to see,
that what had been,
between me and you.

What did you take from this?
I kept all that my arms could carry,
I forgot all the seconds,
but did you keep the hours?

Questions we will never answer,
chase the rain back into the sky,
there is no pain,
that answers cannot fix.
