I Glory In Thee, Lord! Poem by Nicanor P. Tiosen

I Glory In Thee, Lord!

Rating: 5.0

Who says nothing in life is fair?
He is asleep - deep in a dream;
For how could he be so unaware
people thrive down the river
as others enjoy living upstream.

But, those who are up
need not boast of their fortune;
nor those who are down
curse the day of their birth;
Alas! A rich and famous person
is lost to oblivion,
while a virtual unknown
has a life full of mirth.

The rich should exult not
in the abundance of their wealth;
Like the poor and the ignorant
down they go neath the earth.
The strong and the powerful
should not brag of their might,
for the weak and the lame
sometimes win a fight.

In anyone wants to glory in,
it should be that he knows God -
that he truly understands His ways,
His wisdom, and constant love.
For if one obeys His laws
and does what is right,
his is the eternal bliss
and the promised crown of life!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is just to drive home the point that man is nothing before the sight of God, that we owe everything we have to Him and that what is important is to maintain our relationship with Him and earn His promised eternal life.

When you write about God, you should use the correct grammar for God, with always having His 'h' capitalized. You've used His 'h' for 'His', but not for 'He' yet.
