I Have Left The World Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

I Have Left The World

I have left the world long ago,
When the first ray of the sun
In the morn ceased to brighten
Up my irises and created rainbows.

There was no time table
For paying insurance premium,
Renewing driving licence, meeting
Deadlines and staying online to
Meet the friends living abroad.

My soul is moving in a void
The body is lying silent in a world
Where trains don't move upon rails,
Where the hawkers don't push carts
And shout at house wives standing
At the doors gossiping.

Rose plants are not tended. Weeds try
To reach me below in search of their enemy.

I have left the world long ago.
Creepers have occupied the places
On the stairs where I used to sit and
Watch the men passing by the gate
Whistling songs from old movies.
