I have no lover
Rachel wrote a poem
It is free of all bounds but
full of simplicity and practicality
“I skim sadness like fat off the surface
of cooling soup.”
She said and went on.
Hardly any rhyme
Of course no meter
and who cares! ?
She says it all, to the end
“I have no other, not even I.”
Zucker’s way
“Don't care about
metaphor but wish it would arrive
me.”
She writes, I agree.
“There’s a cool current of air”
In it the flowers’ smell
around it birds sing and chirp
but the geese claim ownership
of the roads; they honker
“I have no lover, not even my love.”
