I Have The Fever In My Face Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

I Have The Fever In My Face

I have the fever in my face
Because I have the verse
In me it as the fetus growth
And feel its sweetness though not yet be born.

I that have seen
The spumes of angry sea waves on my cheek
Now see more
And feel the resigning pallor of the
Heated face of fever and of pain of
Birth of verse.

I am weak now.

My face burns now

I sit before the computer
As before a piano
I sit humbled and my head be bent

As captive under the sword of pain
In humiliation and oblivion rest
There be a rest in pain that I yearn for.
