I Hope You Know
Do you know?
I pray that you do.
And if you don’t,
It’s time I tell you.

I’ve felt alone for most of my life so far.
And I was in so much pain.
But I don’t feel so alone anymore.
I’m not in that much pain anymore.

I felt as if no one could possibly understand.
And that I could never let anyone keep me safe.
That I alone could keep myself safe from the pain.
I was devastingly wrong.

By not letting anyone know of my pain,
I caused and created more pain,
Than I already had before.
I was in agony.

The n I allowed a couple people in.
One I had know for basically the whole of my life.
And the other I hadn’t known for that long, but she understood.
They are my two closest friends.
Now I have many friends,
Some of whom I trust to shield me from the pain.
The same way my closest friends did for me.
I am going to do the same thing for them.

I don’t want my friends to suffer the way I did.
I don’t want them to feel that sort of pain.
And I never want them to feel alone,
Whenever they need someone to shield them.

I wanted to tell you all.
I wanted to have you all know.
I made a promise to myself and I intend to keep it.
I wanted you to know that I’ll be there when you need me.

I’ll be there whenever you need me.
I’ll be all ears when you need someone to talk to.
I’ll be the person who’s shoulder to cry on.
I’ll be whatever you need me to be.

I’ll be right next to you when you need someone.
I’ll be your strength when you’re weak.
I’ll be you wings when you can’t fly.
I’ll be your shield from the pain.
