I Keep To Myself, I Write Poem by Corvette Nezumi Mikazuki

I Keep To Myself, I Write

Alone in my room
Darkness fills the emptiness
I keep to myself,
I write

My door opens
Light floods the room
covering the darkness
I squint
I realize who had opened the door
I keep to myself,
I write

She yells at me
She rambles to me
She takes from me
She steals from me
Still, I just
Keep to myself,
I write

She can stripe me of my freedom
She can take away my stuff
She can’t take my heart
She can’t take my soul
I keep to myself,
I keep writing

She can’t take my thoughts
She can’t stripe me of who I am
She’s nothing but a puppet of the devil
She’s nothing but a burden on me
I keep to myself,
I write

I am who I am
Only God can shape who I am
She, trying to change me
Strengthens me
I keep to myself,
I write

I am who I am
Only I can shape who I am
She forces her thoughts
She forces her opinions
I keep to myself,
I write until I can’t no-more
