I Keep... Poem by Lindsay King

I Keep...

I keep on holding onto the things that want to slip away.
I want to be with you
but I suppose I’ll wait for another day.
When the rain has left me dry…
I love you like you’d never know.
Sleeping on your computer late at night.
The way your hair covers your eyes.
This is love and ecstasy…
this is more than some modern day bliss.
I want to just be near you.
Each and every day…
I won’t let this slip away…
out of my hands through my grubby fingers.
All I want all you need.
I’ll act nonchalant
only so you think it’s even
when it’s really not.
