My heart's breaking and I know why.
I tore it twain and shredded it some more.
We talked over distance, never a chance
To witness your lips dance and your eyes
Sing. Yet, I need you.
I watched you from afar, unnoticed.
When you wrote to me,
Drums beat twice as fast, an orchestra created
Out of choked air, violins sang like birds
And I watched as you stole me.
You quested to know, why I like you.
It wasn't your looks,
No. The simplicities.
It was more, all that and much more.
Attitude and confidence spurred me to you.
You hurt me and you never knew.
I never told you, knowing it was my fault.
To fall was a risk I helplessly took.
You weren't to blame for you didn't.
Why I tore it, I knew.
You asked and I refused, knowing
I was not worth it. I couldn't lead you
Into my demise. Will you see and believe
Me? Perhaps you cared and I refused
To believe it. I was not worth it yet I was certain,
I needed it.
My heart's breaking and I know why.
I tore it twain and watched it dissolve.
Into nothing. Everything.
