I Know It's My Mind, But I Want Out! Poem by bob eichen

I Know It's My Mind, But I Want Out!

I am trapped.
In this world.
In this mind.

In front of me stand the Proletariat, the Bureaucrat, the Bourgeoisie. Tiny men with tiny minds and tiny thoughts. Within their collective they gain power. With power comes hubris. They must be eradicated.

Behind, the Atavistic Anthropomorphs are, for the moment, chained. But with their teeth and claws and their inexorable desire to destroy, they cannot be restrained for long. They must be exterminated.

To my right stand the Intelligensia. Their myriad ideas, a miasma. Too much thought. Infinite questions unresolved. Confounding disagreement creating conflict. All must be annihilated.

To my left are the Artists. The Poets. The Musicians. The Performers. The Writers. The Composers. All Posers. The Counterfeit Cognosentes of Class. Its all bells and whistles, smoke and mirrors. Its all flashing lights and noise, noise, noise, noise! It must be eliminated.

I am trapped.
In this world.
In this mind.
and
I want OUT!

I would choose the artistic, poetic world, myself; but I sure would miss the amenities..electricity, working computers, hot water, medical care...LOL

Well done. Perplexity or a cry for help? Just reflection or deliberation I suspect. It is well done though. Anthropomorphism has always been and even lends us a bit of fun. Wonder if you might find that same appeal in one of mine called Shell-Shock. Have you been on my website geocities.com/adelinefoster?
