I Know Little Poem by Francis Duggan

I Know Little

Of Nature I know little it does seem this way
But of her I do learn something new every day
And the more I do learn the more I realize
That I does lack in knowledge is not a surprise
I do know so little of plants and of trees
Or of insects or of species of flies and bees
Of fish amphibians and reptiles I know little about
Though of the existence of one who knows everything on Nature one does have to doubt
On animals and birds my knowledge far from great
On saying this the obvious I only does state
I have loved Mother Nature since I was a boy
And learning of her ways today I enjoy
And though I do know some birds by the songs they does sing
To realize I know so little of Nature to me a humbling thing.
