I Lament...



I lament the passing of light figures:
Whose flashes of genius help the world
To evolve. I lament the loss of their
Spirit: from which new creations unfurl.
I lament the darkness that destroys dreams.
I lament the darkness that seems to breed
Ignorance and bigotry. I lament
These times when no one will dare to dissent.
