I Lament In Late October Poem by DM W

I Lament In Late October

Rating: 5.0

Autumn: and the scents of summer have passed away.
My lonely, heart - felt poems seek sensitive ears.
My thoughts seem to drift with the colder winds of change.
In late October, I give names to all my fears.

It is a lonely time of year when a person ventures out alone an a rainy, dark grimsville of a night, without a solitary soul about, kind of gets to one. And that person's imagination too. A lament richly rewarded Dominic with five Autumn stars. I wish you well my friend and enjoy life.

Thanks Shaun...much appreciated! I am enjoying life (very much) these days notwithstanding the rather solemn notions expressed in this poem. I seek to write about life in all it light and dark aspects. I don't want my poetry to descend into mawkish sentimentality (so pervasive on this particular site) . With that in mind, my cynical eyes will be focused on the U.S Presidential Election tonight...I wonder which corrupt clown will win!
