I Leave Without Regret Poem by Barry Middleton

I Leave Without Regret

the world does not change
we hope for a better place
but terror stalks our streets
children stare blankly into the future
religions battle for possession of a true god

what lies ahead no one really knows
more tears
more wars
more blood
the world does not change

soon I will be leaving
I had hoped for peace
and brotherhood and love
they say the dead go to a better place
I leave without regret

I Leave Without Regret
