I Listen To The Rain Poem by Barry Middleton

I Listen To The Rain

Rating: 4.8

I listen to the rain
it has a tale to tell
when I think all is lost
it whispers all is well

it cares not where it falls
and some may get a flood
and some a sacrament
to wash away the blood

to some it may bring grief
but others dance and shout
and celebrate its gift
where it relieves a drought

and poets know the truth
the blessing of the rain
and cherish every drop
for all it may sustain

Excellent. So beautifully written. The connection between poet n nature is very strong. Your poem proves that. Well-conceived n well-crafted.10

I would drop and in 6th verse after a fulstop, in 7th and 13th verse too.A very robust and strong piece of poetical writting, Barry.

Thank you. If I changed it, it wouldn't rhyme.
