I Look for Answers…
Tears of sadness prick my eyes as
The rays of hope and joy do die.
I cry for more in a desperate need of
Food and water and a family.
I yearn to know what my purpose may be,
A scab? A joke? A nobody?
I surrender my tears to the cold, hard ground,
Letting them fall and hearing their sound.
I want a meaning, I want answers,
I knock at the door, I cry out for more.
Grief and heartache hit me unguarded,
I turn around and go back to where it started.
Lonely I feel as I walk along the track.
A broken heart, a lone wolf without a pack.
I yearn to know what my purpose may be,
Is there one, a purpose for me?
I feel the tears stream down my face as
I reach the cliff, the towering place.
As I scan the oceans for a reply,
My hope and joy again pass by.
Maybe walking this earth was a terrible mistake,
An accident, a disruption, was I meant to be awake?
The dark grey waters beckoned me toward them,
Crashing their waves in a tremendous roar,
As I looked into the eyes of the depressing skies,
A dropp of rain came and opened a door.
I grabbed the door’s hands with the both of my arms,
And fell down into the air before being filled with balm.
Was that my destiny, to be thrown off a cliff?
By the Earth itself, in a glass-shattering rip?
I had looked for answers and had become more lost but
Then death found me and off the cliff I was tossed.
