I Look In The Mirror (An Old Age Poem) Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Look In The Mirror (An Old Age Poem)

Rating: 5.0

I look in the mirror
And what do I see?
A far worse version
Of what was once me

I look in the mirror
And what do I see?
A old sad man
I would rather not be

I look in the mirror
And what do I see?
A lonely regret
At what can't again be

I look in the mirror
And what do I see?
A life that has gone by
The end of my dreams.

Aloha Shalom... Cheers and a Happy New Year! Whoa! a bit deep my dear bard... 'end of dreams'? hardly! once you get rid of the husk... you get to grow wings! and really... what does a mirror genuinely reflect? What is available within the mind for the eyes to see? kinda, sorta, maybe... stay away from those mirrors! All of the best from this life, to you, and all of your relations... Michaelw1two

Oh! Sad note on old age! O' mirror you are truly beauty look at me- I see myself into you I see my octogenarian skin into your crystalline glass but find inside this skin- the desire of living mind is so young and wanna to live as like as blooming rose
