I Love Not Poem by Minerva Agriam

I Love Not

I have loved not the physique that glitters,
But the beauty within which you have;
I have loved not the promising voices of melody,
But your sweetness which sang of honesty.
I have loved not the dashing smiles that
Captivated women's hearts,
But the honesty curves of your lips.
I have loved not the hidden meanings
Of your words,
But the spirituality that that they bring.
I have loved not the glitters of the shining things,
But the picturesque beauty that expanse.
I have loved not the surprises that
Expensive things bring,
But the wonderment of seeing the
Special beauty of the muted flowers.
I have loved not the applauses that
Wrongly uplifted men,
But the gentle reproaches of a kind
Loving Heart who really cares.
I have loved not the sudden surge of
Happiness for this world,
But the peaceful shaking of the One
Who is pleased with me.
I have loved not the loving cares,
And teachings that they give me,
But the great learning in order to
Love them as You do.
I have loved not the sweet songs
That lovers sang,
But the melody of Your peaceful heart.
I have loved not names that
Greatly honored men,
But the resounding meanings
Of Your sweet Initials.
I have loved not joyous accumulating
Travels that I have,
But the simple works with You
Around chirping little birds.
I have loved not the conversations
With honorable rich men,
But with simple cheerful individuals
Who learn to laugh at themselves.
I have loved not the knowledge
That would explain everything,
But the knowledge that
Everything is joyously Yours.
I have loved not the vices that blind
And dull the spirits,
But the joys Your Spirit gives.
Yes! Love is not wanting in You,
Coz in You is founded true Love!
My Lord Jesus Christ, the Sweet Initials
Are Yours Lord Emmanuel. Amen.
