I Love People Poem by Mohabeer Beeharry

I Love People

I smile with them
I joke with them
And makethem easy and happy
I love people

I love the zest and the chat,
Some people are great speakers
Others like me, speak less.
We display different personalities,
Which is very intriguing.

In the market place
Although I know they are charging me extra
I still call them friends
Or brothers.

I still smile and tell them
I can get the item cheaper elsewhere.
And pretend to leave, they take no offense
They call me back.

I am no saint
I can be very angry,
Specially when they cheat me on the change.
I know the answer
Sorry I made a mistake!

To hell with your mistake
It would have cost me a couple of rupees more.
Back to the square one
Like charging me more.

This is being human
