I Love The Way She Prays Poem by Leslie Alexis

I Love The Way She Prays

I love the way she prays
Her faith sealed the deal
When they were here and there
Her faith in God was real

There came a time to choose
The dames were all so splendid
Her faith said I wouldn't lose
The decision became candid

Like umbrella for rainy days
Like water for patched tongue
Like working a job that pays
Like breast milk for the young

The decision is obvious
My God, my love, and I
Without Him there is no 'us'
For Love He is the supply

The heart within the heart
The reason within reason
The artist to her art
The salt to the season

I love the way she prays
I believe in eternity
We'll be beyond living days
My God, my Love and me.
