I Love To Be Out Walking/When No One Else Is Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Love To Be Out Walking/When No One Else Is

I love to be out walking
When no one else is
In the middle of the night
When the darkness and the distance
And the stars
Are only mine
When no sound stops my thought
And I can hear myself think
I love to be out walking alone at night
And feel the cool fresh air
And the strength of my legs movement
And the speed of my only going on alone
Far and far
Deeper and deeper into the distance
As I walk around the block back again
Toward my home.

I also like to walk alone at night. The solitude, the silence and the stars are wonderful companions. Very nice poem.
