I’m Drowning Poem by mariam khan Farah Abdulahi

I’m Drowning

Rating: 0.5

Oh how I’m drowning
Drowning in this sea of mass confusion
I know it’s not for long
Although it seem like forever
Up in the morning singing Nasheeds
Dancing with joy
Alhumdoliallah I’m a Muslim
As I go to the house to clean, paint, do gardening or just be with you my love
My heart sings with joy
As you sing sweet songs to me as we eat together
Then it’s back to the flat
Time to spring clean big time
With scrubbing and sorting Ready for moving
It looks a lot worse than it is
I took a break, had to run
Went for my son
With pain in my eyes and joy in my heart
For the sake of Allah
I ran in this sea of mass confusion
When I come back more confused
Did more sorting, stopped to sign on
Went to the house for you my love
Back to the flat
Another break
I had to run
For the sake of Allah I ran to you dear daughter
I ran in the sea of mass confusion
When I came back more confused
I should have gone to the Mosque today
All tiered and drained
I ran to you my love
To the house I came
Gardening to do
Me and your beautiful daughter
Listening to your sweet songs
We eat together
I relax for about half hour
Then back to the flat
All full of confusion
Full of memories
I clean, I sort
With pain in my eyes
Joy in my heart
I hope to be organised next week
Ready to move
Be where I need to be
To become a better Muslim, Wife, Mom, Sister and person
Insha-Allah
