Are you referring to types of poetry? One thing I can say is that the Western world - Europe and by extension the USA - embraced the pagan cultures of ancient Greece and Rome in the Renaissance (16th century) but Russia did not experience that Renaissance. But even a thoroughly Christian poet like John Milton was filled to overflowing with that pagan influence. He honored it as human learning; it did not challenge the integrity of his fervent Christianity. It's a knotty issue. And I want to understand your viewpoint more thoroughly. Tell me more!
