I'm Too Heavy To Fly Poem by Allen Steble The Philosophical Poet

I'm Too Heavy To Fly

I can not fly
because i don't have those things
those things called wings
I do not lift
because i don't have that gift
that gift to fly

i can not fly
so i'll just raise my head
and dream instead

i can not soar
so i stay on the floor
i have no wings
those feathered things
i do not rise
thats no surprize

i can not fly
so i'll raise my head
and dream instead

i can not glide
through the puffy clouds
but i look on the up side
with my head held high
i can not fly
i never will
so i'll raise my head
and reach for the sky instead
