I Met You Poem by Moth Harris

I Met You

You watched me as I watched you.
An old pop bottle and a coup soup.
The lives we lived, we didn't get to choose,
but I met you.

What your heart says, and what's the truth.
I changed the sky so you wouldn't be so blue.
If you didn't know, then here's the proof,
You always knew.

And I was here
When you were near
My path was clear
When I met you.
When I met you.
And I was here
With all the tears,
and you appeared,
You always knew,
You always knew.

We've watched each other since our youth.
An old soda can sitting at an empty booth.
The lives we lived, I didn't need to choose,
because I chose you.

What your heart says, could it be true,
That you changed the sky for me too,
and the only thing that's been missing was you,
but you always knew, you always knew...
