I Mimic Them Poem by Naveed Akram

I Mimic Them

I employed pretty enemies in my presence,
Her day in sickening me was a night of heights.
We began to mimic the swans, the emotional
Caretakers of the youth, our son and daughter
Swam to the other side, like a bird migrating
Due to its intelligence, it is somewhere else now.

I used a decision and began all treasure,
Coins conjured the rewards from people,
A crowd invested in me, as the rewards were golden.
I employed the wonderful men,
Whose task was the highest.

I enjoyed the Spring, I fasted during the Autumn,
Feeding the man by the river, asking a few dealings.
The poor men swore their allegiance, richer men
Flocked to the pool of radiant music,
I wanted them to drown their arts,
And burn their sciences, like a man who swears
He is master of the pen that teaches man.
