I Miss You So
(Ode to the Ocean)

Memories fond, adventures unique…
Glances of mysteries fleeting.
Through your beauty and mystique,
You have captivated my essence, my being…

Peaceful yet tempestuous,
Slowly swaying, violently Crashing…
Beautiful yet dangerous,
Shimmers, colors, thrashing, slashing…


Green, Purple, Turqoise blue
By God you inspire me so…
In you colors of every shade and hue,
It forces my blackness to go…

The rays of the sun trespass the surface
Waves roll around my waves of hair..
As I meditate I realize my purpose;
to always cherish this Salty Air…

I Cherish it because through it
I know that Im alive…
It isn’t bland like the air inland
Or Like my soul, or like my mind…

LiFe abundant, Energy to spare
Give me some of what you’ve got, so far…
Rage, instability, & contamination compare
You to me, my shimmering star.

Cleanse me of my sins and sorrows
Through the Devine Spirit’s power…
Help me see the coming tomorrows
As something more sweet than sour…

For our Creator made you
With a special purpose in mind…
Which I believe it was to
Help us put our worries aside…

Because when I swam with those porpoises,
With my father by my side…
I felt a tingling and sense of purpose
and a love that wont subside…

…And when I shared a moment,
Swimming With my mother at the beach…
I realized we’re not so different,
she loves the ocean, we mend the breach …





…And with my 3 young sisters
following me deeper into the capricious sea…
I see in them their trust and love
And how they look up to me…

…And with my Love, who’s afraid of you,
I share my life, my heart..
we also share our love for you
and your marvelous works of art…

Though I’ve found some insight
And peace while walking along the bay…
When Im away from you I find
I need you, I wish I could always stay…


I don’t know why I feel this strain
Maybe I just feel too much…
What I do know is that after the rain
I am soothed by your warm touch…


When I cry, you cry with me,
Our salty tears infuse…
Only One will ever see
The pain I cant I can’t seem to lose…



If not forever, a moment though,
You make me feel alright…
More than can be said ‘bout those I know,
Who sleep while I’m awake at night…

And I’m not blaming anyone,
And I’m sorry if I offend…
But after in Adonai and His son,
I only find comfort at the shores end.
