I Must Be Strong Poem by Loyd C Taylor Sr

I Must Be Strong

I've dreaded this; it will not be fun,
But the truth is it has to be done.
So, with resolve, and determination,
I make my way in that direction.

I have been tempted, yes, it's true,
To close my eyes, and toss it from view.
But in many a tough situation,
I've gained from that strange collection.

I must deal with this without delay!
I must be strong... It must end today!
I weaken while at its contents I glance...
Can I let go? I can't take that chance!

So, I push it safely back in place,
I leave it, for now, I need my space.
Soon I'll muster the courage once more,
To finally clean out that old junk drawer.

Funny. I was thinking at first it was about a serious life situation. Great ending. Keith
