I Needed To Tell Someone My Story Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Needed To Tell Someone My Story

I NEEDED TO TELL SOMEONE MY STORY

I needed to tell someone my story
I had no one to tell
I told the page
And then the pages
And more pages
They did not answer
They did not care.

But in the telling I found solace
Somehow someway somewhere someone
Would care

Now I am old and have told my story again and again
The page does not answer
The silence is still silence

The telling itself has been my life
And that alone has not been enough.

Sharing one's experience with others may not evoke a response but may bring about change somewhere in somebody's life without your knowledge. I think this is more important. Thanks a lot, Shalom. The silence is still silence The telling itself has been my life
