I Now Understand



As long as I can remember
You’ve always been there
I remember that first night
When you told me you cared

I’d always thought that you and I
Could survive any storm
I never once had a thought
That I could ever be wrong

But now I see I was so wrong
Because we have sadly parted
I finally understand what it means
To be truly broken hearted
