I Own You Poem by Naveed Akram

I Own You

I owe it to your interests as a dealer of bravery pains,
In the thinking there has passed many tumultuous passions,
So shocked am I of knowing your compassion, men held their
Breath, women hated the anger of the moment of facial distress,
Like liars were the crowd, like honesty was the grimace.

Then followed a pause, a dear silence of sanity, delight and ecstasy,
In this hand was the customer of pains and courage, of wisdom.
Then they paused, this suddenly was smashed glass, muttering
All along the mysterious traits of a new man and woman of a
New family; this is the solemn duty of all mankind in its display.

I owe it to your soul of fascinated books and cookery, of promise,
Offering more immaculate design, like the Pablo or the Marlowe.
I start the safari of mastership, those bred with skills of the universe
Will live under the canopy of death, the sky of distress, a night
Of completion, a day of ridiculous delight, a morning of peace.
