I Play The Music Of Life And Its Own Secrets. Poem by RIC BASTASA

I Play The Music Of Life And Its Own Secrets.

you were reminded not to love the dumb
because you will be damned forever but you did it just the same.

look at you. look at you. it will never be the same again.
the sands are falling. Your fingers split.

words are flying like kites in the air seen by all bystanders.
the ill winds are blowing. you become a scratch of paper.

blown by the wind. without substance and spiritless.
look at you. look at you. blinded by that kind of dumb love.

i pity you but i am here always to help you.
let me bind you with a string. got a tail and start with the wind.

have a sense of direction now. Come back home to the logic of your
senses. Take the stair, open the door, go to your room and have your
much needed sleep.

Do not rely on dumb people. You cannot even love them.
They say what they want to say, a bomb is set and it exploded.

i watch you asleep. I close the door and the windows.
I play the music of life and its own secrets.
