I Pray Poem by Vera Sidhwa

I Pray

I Pray

I pray you'll stay,
Heavenly and pristine.
You are my babies,
Even though you're in your teens.

I am you mom you see,
So I will forever worry,
About the kind of life,
You've carefully chosen.

I was once like you too,
Wanted everything to do.
I praised the Lord,
But then wanted more.

You are my teenage children,
Religion or no religion,
Keep on the very straight path,
In these huge steps you've taken.

I love you so much.
