I need God more now
I pray more deeply and more desperately
When I pray now
I do not allow contradiction and denial
To do anything more than suggest themselves
I need God's help too much
I believe God hears
Whatever I do
And knows my failures my doubts my contradictions
But I need to believe God is Kindness and Goodness and Help
I need to believe
And so I pray with my deepest feeling
I pray and pray and pray
God will help those I love and care for.
